I see a-lot more Red Sox gear in New York City since the Sox won the 2004 WS. As a Mets fan I don't have any love for the Sox, but when it comes to beating the Yankees, the Sox are like our retarded cousin.

I was at a bar in Boston when the Sox lost the ALCS in 2003. Aaron Boone hit that home run & everybody was stunned, shocked & dismayed. The place went silent and it was so sad. The TV announcers went on talking about how great it was that the Yankees won & then all of a sudden the bartender reached up and slapped the TV off. Everybody applauded but then returned to being bummed out.
2004, well that was a different story and I can't express in words here how good it felt.
