@itsme3592 Not really, hon. Madonna's work mostly consists of an original reinterpretation of a popular element or theme, and THAT is the utmost definition of Pop Art. Do not mistake the elements used in the construction of an artwork (including a song or video, or painting - like Warhol's) with not being original. Madonna is the closest thing to Andy Warhol in music, while Gag's work consists of a direct and unintelligent reconstruction, sometimes blatantly copy, of the works of other people.

@TarantulaCandy Imo any entertainer should be allowed to be inspired by the rich history of Broadway and seeing as though Lady Gaga/Stefani comes from NY I'm not surprised that she is. And I never said Gaga has never been inspired by Madonna. There have been countless times where she has blatantly ripped Madonna off. I just don't believe that Gaga's 'drag performance' was a rip off of Madonna's. Yes there's a similarity in the drag element but the ideas behind both performances are v. different.

@DitRehab Make no mistake, I LOVE Madonna. But I cringe at the phrase "Madonna did it FIRST." It has been coined by bunch of elitist fan queens with NO sense of history beyond 1980. Madonna has never done anything FIRST! She's a product of her predecessors just like GaGa. And there's nothing wrong with that, it's natural. And articles like that of "TIMES" mean nothing. Going by things like that, Lady GaGa is more powerful than Oprah! (Forbes) Which is crap, but there's no reason to resent GaGa.

@TarantulaCandy I adore Madonna. I've been to her show 4 times, once front row. And they were some of the best nights of my life. But if you believe that she is an innovator, then the only real chimp is the one she has made you. You must have no sense of history beyond the eighties. Do some homework! Or, you can sit at your computer and continue to sift through comments and ignorantly bash Lady GaGa- whatever floats your boat. Good day.
