Columbia (Viva~tonal!) 770-D [142445] "Blues (My Naughty Sweetie Gives to Me)" (Swanstone, McCarron, and Morgan), Ted Lewis and His Band. First issued late 1926 ( This may be a slightly later pressing, as I believe the legend "Viva~tonal" didn't appear on the label until 1927 or later. Played on my Granada (4-4).

This later recording by Lewis of "Blues..." is a noticeably different (but not radically) arrangement than his 1919 recording for Columbia which I've already posted and linked. Enjoy!

  • One of my favourite Ted Lewis records, thanks for posting this.

Out of curiosity have you ever encountered Columbia's "Sample Record" from around 1924, with "Ted Lewis Popular Favorites" medly on one side?

  • Msilberfuchs, Yes I have a copy of it. I will have to post it sometime. Glad you enjoyed the record, Thanks for watching.

    Regards, J.

  • Wow, Really Different from the early one. Quite Hot. I can still here Raderman and Kahn, but Also George Brunies.

  • Desdemona202, those seven years in recording experience made a great deal of difference. Not to mention the brand new microphone! Glad you enjoyed it.

    Regards, J.
