oldham knocked wigan out of the challenge cup - the last time Wigan lost in that comp for 7 years! with a brilliant anti-wigan biased commentary -Ellery Hanley sick as a pig!
The second finest phrases in the history of sporting journalism are. "Off he goes" and "It's about time Greggory is put in his place".
Unfortunately, in this particular game, there were no opportunities for the excellent, unbiased commentator to put the notoriously nasty Dean Bell on record for posterity.
I went to this game and had to leave with 5 minutes left for work...i heard the cheer as i was walking to catch the train...Shame about Roughyeds now tho!
LOL you would of thought they had won the cup the way hes going on,by the way wigan won the cc in 88 they beat hallifax it was salford that stopped our 8 year unbeaten run in 95 .
Did Wigan go out?

I know it's been said a heap of times, but this commentary is absolute gold!
Also, was this referee the French bloke that came over to Australia in the early 80's "on loan".
