Mies van der Rohe Visions Of Space
part 2 of 7
BBC Documentary - Visions Of Space - 2003

....................................

Barcelona Pavilion (German Pavilion in Barcelona) was constructed as a temporary building for the International Exposition in Barcelona of 1929. Though temporary, it was still made of permanent materials - steel, glass, marble, and travertine. After the closure of the Exhibition, the Pavilion was disassembled in 1930.
Rebuilt on its original site in 1986.

  • Architectural Necrophilia - That is a brilliant characterization. I think many of us who are fond of early to mid 20th century architecture fall into that group. Especially of buildings that only exist in pictures or drawings nowadays.

makes me think of a BMW, Mercedes Benz or Porsche. Audi, too. "Less is more"

    Thx for uploading this piece.
