La Gloria Cubana Serie N JSB Cigar Review

This 5.5x54 stick offers a very oily almost jet black wrapper with what appears to be a dark Corojo capital N stuck on just below the band. It was a thick, firm satin feel and dense pack, with small veins, invisible seams and a rich, oily tobacco aroma. First light reveals a perfect draw and medium body flavors of a very rich, creamy and oily tobacco with a bit of pepper zing especially on the finish. The first third develops to a light airy smoke with flavors of a creamy, oily tobacco and black pepper with a good amount of zing through the finish. Even though it's a solid medium body with easily identified flavors, it has no deep body at all leaving a very light mouthfeel. The 2nd third brings up the body to medium-full and completely changes the flavors. It brings a deep rich creamy coffee, with a substantial mouthfeel and deep pepper and spice finish. 50 minutes in to the 1/2 way point, flavors shift again dropping the coffee and taking on a deeper earth with the occasional caramel aftertaste on the draw. Strength is up matching the body at medium-full making me a bit light headed. The last third continues the same experience, ending at the 1:30 minute mark. Thank you very much to General Cigar for sending these for review, I greatly appreciate it! Photography by BGPictures.com

  • That's where mine like it too

  • about 20 years

  • Cubans are going to be relatively stronger than other countries right off the bat. For beginners I always suggest a large sampler pack, not just a single brand or blend. I don't have a big Cuban experience so I don't know what they are going to have for you. Try everything you can!

  • How long do you let a cigar you purchased from a local store, that has been kept humidified, sit in your humidor before you smoke it?

  • @Jerexify They are good to go! Acclimation is only needed, at least from stores around me, after shipping.

  • Yes, slowly over a few weeks

  • Quick question...based on your review I tried the Serie N and LOVED it! Are there any cigars that you can recommend that are "creamy" and rich like this cigar? Thanks

  • Awesome commentary and very thorough cigar reviews. Best on YouTube! I didn't know there were so many adjectives in the English language; much less so many that describe cigars. Keep cuttin' up and toasting...!

  • question i also live in flroida what percentage do you keep you humidor in? my house is always at 76 so ive been keeping it at 60-64% am i ok ?

  • how long have u been smoking cigars ?

  • Great review

  • Hey brian do you have cigar every night?

  • @StupidFatKid94 If i were you, id save my money and pick up a sampler. Good cubans are very expensive. Newbies (or even occasional cigar smokers) dont have enough tasting experience to appreciate or even tell the difference. You should develope your palette and brand/origin experience before busting your wallet on cubans. Also, you will probably get ripped off and not even be smoking a real cuban anyway. There are lots of scams performed on "white boys". They can smell beginners a mile away.
