On 31 May 2009 I rode my bicycle from Bondi Beach to Parliament House in Canberra. Whilst raising awareness for arthritis related illnesses and supporting a variety of charities I would like to share something with you all.

For those who are not aware I have been diagnosed with Psoriatic Arthritis and over 10 years suffered severe pain every time I would even try to move. Whilst the doctors prescribed numerous types of medications they didn't work and I had to endure the wrath of side effects that followed.

To overcome this I began cycling and dedicating more time to physical activities. Not long thereafter I began to feel stronger, healthier, more positive and gained greater control of my life.

Furthermore, I would set new challenges onto myself and began understanding more about what was going on.

So, in brief whilst companies are making billions and some medications don't work, doctors are frightening the hell out of their patients, and millions of Australian's still suffer everyday. Not enough is being done to help.

It's time to take matters into our own hands and just make it happen. Learn to create healthy lifestyles for ourselves and share it with those around us.

And once you enjoy spending more time outdoors you will notice how beautiful the world is.

In this video are some of my friends and supporters seeing me off as well as some adventures along the way to the Southern Highlands.

  • It certainly was disastrous. Not quite what I expected but considering that 12 months prior I could hardly walk I did ok. I promised myself that if I ever get better I would do this ride and I did.
