So many moronic choices Georgia made on this final drive.

Most likely, yes. It was flatly obvious that this Paul Allen guy didn't know what the hell he was talking about as soon as he said the ball should've been clocked because that would've lost more than it gained. Sure, they would've gotten an extra play, but by not clocking it they had a better chance of keeping the defense on-heels and also stopped Kirby Smart from making substitutions.

Personally, I still say this should've been the title game. I thought I was gonna have a heart attack.

Actually he had a great chance of getting out of bounds, but he slipped so had he known that would happen then no he should't have caught it, but he knew he had to run out out of bounds after catching the ball.

You also forgot to say that the reciever that caught the ball was pretty damn close to the out-of-bounds mark so that was his intented route after he caught the pass, but since he slipped and fell there was no chance for him.

Oh, and FYI: your assessment of the play is idiotic. The ball was intended for the man in the background who's being drenched in man coverage by the best cover corner in the SEC, if not the country, but the linebacker tipped it.

The guy who the ball ended up going to was also being covered in man, so the only disengaged player was Alabama's safety with a clear jump on the pass. The only other extremely likely scenario was an Alabama interception, in which case the game would still be over.
