@The1Bushman Actually fairly recently some local production has been done. Big leaf maple is a west coast tree that can be used for syrup and its range extends slightly into BC including Nanaimo. Its a small industry but is growing.

Great job by the players. . my only question is . .what the heck is Nanaimo, BC doing holding a Maple Sugar festival . .when all the maple trees and syrup/sugar production is in Eastern Canada . .lol .. don't they have anything local to have a festival about .. or is it that boring . .and nothing happens here kinda place ? lol

If you want to hear an extension of the Acadians, come on down to Lafayette, Louisiana and listen to the cajun fiddlers....great music....We consider them a natural resource.
