temporarily reduce some salaries across the board. decrease pool use to 65%. make sure the newark residents understand the status and still look forward for a miracle by the almighty. God is yet alive.

A 7% tax increase is a bad idea in a recession no matter how you paint it. This penalizes people who are still working and paying into the system.

Sounds like the voice of reason, right on target and facing the inevitable cuts that need to be made.
I wish our president viewed the US budget deficit issues in the same way - as a crisis that won't be solved by simply raising taxes.

For all of you that want the city pools to reopen, volunteer to keep them open or get a job in Newark and pay your taxes. Stop complaining about what you think you deserve. You are entitled to nothing except Life, Liberty, and the PURSUIT of happiness. Happiness is between you and God. Pools won't give it, nor will politicians. Stop looking to creatures, for only what the Creator can provide.
