@sophiesepe This is not true. Movie opened in theaters in original version. It was when it went on TV in the early 70's that the network heavily edited it and virtually changed the whole plot - Elizabeth was no longer a prostitute but a "wig saleslady", etc. After that it virtually never played TV until recently.
"more haunted than in rosemary's baby" about mia farrow, some curse words, and liz showing some skin---in this 2 minute ad; can bet movie goers felt cheated when they saw the whole movie.
i saw this 15 years ago on the 'encore' channel... i was 23 and just moved out on my own - never left my apartment... now i'm 38 and I feel kinda like liz does in this movie. life imitates art sometimes. Let's all turn to God and Jesus Christ. That's our best bet from depression :)
There are doors to lock against the terror outside but what about the evil within? that was deep. This was the first Liz film I saw, I thought it was terrible but I have learned to love it through the years, and Liz looks so beautiful in it and her acting is so realistic, she has a style unparalleled even today, I don't know how to describe it, sure it's melodramatic but it has a sense of reality to it, an authenticity that is just hers.
