Unfortunately for the Republicans they have 5 Senators retiring in states where the Dems have an excellent chance of taking the seats in 2010 (Kentucky, New Hampshire, Missouri, Florida, & Ohio) & most citizens in those states favor the Health Care bill , so if they vote against it - they pretty much turn the 5 Senate seats over to the Democrats.

Bond, MO,retiring, if he votes agst, he hands seat to Dems

Gregg, NH, retiring, if he votes agst, Dem will replace

Voinovich,OH, retiring, vote agst bill & seat's gone

Martinez - Fla,retiring, vote agst & Dems gain seat

Vitter, LA, sex scandal, going, going gone

Burr, NC, vote agst & no chance

Ariz & Tex seats also in danger
