Modern Warfare 2 - Homeland Security Veteran Solo 7m 36.85s

My preferred technique for beating this level on Veteran by yourself is to

(a) head over to the restaurant across the street and grab the turret off the roof, and set it up on the roof facing the street,

(b) head back to the restaurant with the silver counter and grab the turret inside and place it behind the counter, facing the street,

(c) run back to the beginning and grab the claymores and third turret, setting that at the gasoline station end of the alley behind the restaurant.

(d) If you want, set up claymores around blind corners.

If seems like it should be possible, possibly with this turret arrangement, to go the entire five waves without firing a single shot (but possibly melee if necessary). The BTR and helicopters can be struck by incoming drone missiles, and I've seen a drone missile take out a chopper and BTR both (on separate occasions.. the drone takes out the final BTR in this video).. but I'm not sure how I would go about aiming them, since both times were accidents. Perhaps by getting the drone to aim directly at my location, and standing with the chopper between me and the drone in the sky. I wonder if it is possible to shoot down the drone, since you can in multiplayer, although none of the rockets seem to lock on in Spec Ops that normally do multiplayer.

I'm not really that good, so this isn't so much as a "whoa look at me, how quick I am" but instead just showing my technique (as a player who is bad at this game) for beating this mission on Veteran by myself with as little skill necessary on my part. So try to troll me on something else.

If I get any better times than this, I'll post a link below and an update as to what I did differently.

I've gotten it down to 7minutes and 36.85 seconds now.
I fire a single shot on the first wave while getting things set up, so how long you take to get ready with the last sentry doesn't seem to matter much. What I did differently was to take out the two BTRs when they first crossed in front of the restaurant without letting them make another pass, and took out the helicopters almost as soon as they came into view. One way I could see about possibly making this time even faster, is that there are truck loads of guys that drive up on the 4th and 5th waves, in the distance, which I saw while waiting for the BTR to come around. I tried hitting them with a rocket, but I'm sure if one rocket were to hit properly, it would take out 8 or so guys in a single shot. I was able to take out the first chopper on the final wave almost immediately, but I had to dance around to look for the second one as it flew out of view at first. I only placed 3 claymores this time, one at the entrance corner like in this one (where I nearly got killed replacing an exploding one in the video) and two next to the booth seats facing each other. However, when I was done, none of them had been tripped yet, so perhaps I just got lucky.
