It's an Android app which seems to suit your needs. Not sure how much it is or how it works as I haven't used it, but 13mordeth has done a review of it and it seemed pretty good. It can also record in the background while you use other apps.

Interesting...I've been thinking about filming some of the crazy stuff that happens on the roads. Filming at 720p seems good enough to get good detail, which keeps the space down. Can I ask what car dock you're using? Also, is there a way to keep the camera filming if you switch to another app, to play music for example?

I watched the entire 14 mins vid .. mostly because i'm surprised by the great 720p quality of the SII AND how nicely the video was recorded. I'm guessing this is a UK. good to see the non-hollywood version of a 'foreign' country. ;p
