@terracore you are clueless.

When Junior Brown plays, he is making love to his music!

Junior is my cousin. He invented the guit-steel that he plays. And the guit-steel is on exhibit. He is an unbelievably talented musician. It is true that he doesn't get enough airplay. some of that is because his views on country music (more pure country roots) don't jibe with the current views of country (combo of rock and country). He has several CDs of his original music, which you should check out. He also got CM Vid of the Year award in the 90s for his original 'My Wife Thinks You're Dead.'

@nancejo It's claaed "Nashville Claw" technique, check out the Reverend Horton Heat.

@terracore This comment assumes his originals would be better than his covers. He seems tom make a lot of great music, regardless of who wrote it.

JB is a hell of a guitar player !
He would have been "one of the greats" if he came up with his own stuff instead of just doing covers.

@terracore Junior Brown has quite a collection of incredible originals, unfortunately they get no airplay. Check out some of my other videos, and you might change your mind. I chose this clip out of that show, to share, specifically because of the recognizablity factor. Please don;t put Junior into your cover artist category, without experiencing a show live! I promise you will not be disappointed!

There are times it looks like he is using his pick and his fingers.
nancejo 6 months ago
@nancejo You are correct. He uses finger picks on middle, ring, and pinkie! He does not use one on his index finger, because he holds a standard guitar pick, as opposed to the steel players thumb pick. Yet another unique particularity to the Great Mr. Brown! 8)

Just got back from seeing Jr. at the Ark in Ann Arbor. He did 2 hours non-stop. Best show I've seen in some time. Better live than his recorded stuff. Was called back for 2 encores. Great show. If he comes anywhere near you definetly make the effort to see the show, you won't be disappointed.

@7santarick I am LUCKY! He plays every Sunday @ The Continental Club in Austin, which is about 2 hours from my home in San Antonio! I agree, his live stuff blows away the studio stuff! That's why I make my videos of his live stuff, to share this great talent with those who are not lucky enough to see him in person! Check out my page for more of these videos!!!!
