Amtrak used to operate into Grand Central until 1991.
-
Nope that bridge is still active. That is called "Hell Gate".
-
And don't forget Baltimore.
-
No. The Amtrak train from Boston goes into Penn Station and then continues south towards Newark, Wilmington, Philadelphia, Washington and Newport News, VA.
-
So, you bypass Penn station?
-
Grand Central (Metro-North) trains use different approaches than Amtrak because Amtrak doesn't go to Grand Central.

Check out Amtrak's website for routes and schedules. Trains from Boston go all the way down to DC and Virginia. Trains from New York City go down to Florida.

OMG I always take the Grand Central to manhatten and never have i seen on a train on that bridge. It's either always under construction or just empty. So i guess the bridge is still functional huh?
