Coming from a very white high schooler, the Black Panther is one of the most important characters in comics. He's as badass as it gets and I think he represents his race very well in the Marvel Universe without being stereotyped. This show is a great chapter in his spotty history and it's a shame it's not more well-known.

@BLACKOJJJ Black Panther is the first black superhero, but he isn't American. He's the ruler of a fictional African nation called Wakanda. The Falcon is the first African American superhero.

@tylerdw100 Doctor Who is more well known and popular than Quatermass, but that's immaterial to the fact that Quatermass was first. Same with the Black Phantom.

@MaskedMan66 Yeah but T'Challa is well known more and popular than him. So people make have him confusion with him being the first. Beside to me, He'll still be the first black superhero ever

I thought the series was uneven. First of all, it seemed unsure whether it wanted to be a comedy or a drama. Some characters, like T'Challa, were well-written and multidimensional, while others, like the Black Knight, were one-dimensional stereotypes. The animation was interesting, and rather hearkened back to the days of "The Marvel Superheroes."

I mean, I enjoyed it for the most part, it's just that it needed a little more planning.

@simonsebs Actually, the first black superhero was the Black Phantom, who first appeared in 1964-- two years before T'Challa made his debut.

Everyone needs to stop calling this a animated series. It was a comic book...then trade paperback...now a motion comic book.
