I know many people who are openly both gay and bi in Edinburgh, some of whom are very flamboyant with it and they never have any problems.

It's a very friendly and open gay scene in Edinburgh.

The "scene" - whatever that means - is full of alcoholic, clap-ridden, smalltown bitchy freaks who need to get a life. edinburgh has ideas way above its station because of the Festival - for the other 11 months it's shit. As for being able to be openly gay in the street. Just try it! You'd last a day if you were lucky.
