Space News : The U.S. Iridium 33 satellite collided with Russia's Cosmos satellite at an altitude of 800 km at 16:56 GMT.
The Cosmos satellite was launched in 1993 and has stopped functioning since 1995.

The incident is believed to be the first in-orbit collision involving a commercial satellite.
