Sara Palin does not want to "break up the union". And many states (Texas, for example) joined the union with only with the understanding that they could withdraw from the union later, if they wanted to. And since all states have equal rights under the U.S. constitution, EVERY STATE HAS THE RIGHT TO SUCCEED!

If this were 1860, I'd support the person who wanted to keep the Union intact. I thought that issue was off the table, but now in 2008 I have to make classic films to support it.

Not all Republicans are these evil, NeoCon, moral authoritarian crazies that you see today. Actually, the Republican and Democratic parties are not that different these days. Both have committed our troops to fight other nation's wars (Bosnia, Iraq etc...), and both current parties are in favor of strengthening the stranglehold the Federal Govt has on the people (although Democrats are about regulating social issues and the current Republicans are trying to remove civil liberties)
