He doesn't say you have to donate

But if you LIKE the game and you WANT to see more you should donate so the creators can actually make more games that YOU enjoy

All he's saying is to reward the people who make GOOD things and that is entirely up to your discretion.

The point of this wasn't "Assassin's Creed is bad and you should feel bad". It was merely stating that we can change the way things are run if we choose what we decide to fund and pay for.

And all of the people commenting about how they don't think Assassin's Creed is bad probably need to rewatch the video and try to understand what it was actually saying.

This was put out before Ass Creed II was released. I love AC, and even I have to admit the first game was pretty bad.

Bringing up assassin's creed was a pretty jarring thing to do in this video if you ask me. Now everybody's talking about it instead of donating or even passage, it's not even a good example, the game about aging and relationships is more original than a recreation of an aincent city and culture that's (Mostly) nonexsistent? Why are these even being compared? It's like if someone said "Free tibet, also Megadeth is shit!"

I like the message of this rant but the opinions are out of place.

The cool thing is that with new internet startups like Kickstarter and Alpha game funding this is becoming a reality. Project Zomboid, Minecraft, and other games are proof of that.

On the topic, I don't donate as much as I do, but I do donate occasionally.

I know that Anthony must be insanely busy now that he's a writer at gearbox, but I wish that he would return to this series. This industry is desperately lacking this kind of insight. Most of us feel this way, but we lack a voice. Anthony was that voice, and his ideas are still as fresh and poignant today as they were years ago.

2 years old, and still this rant holds as much truth and weight as did back then. It seems like the indie scene is flourishing these days, but the bed of flowers it is could of been a forrest of healthy trees had we tried harder sooner.

In any case, while most people are already set in stone in their buying habits, I hope we can at least keep trying.g and finding new and interesting ways to fund creators of great games.

i swapped 'assasins creed' with 'borderlands' it was piece of shit and its by gear box and it was so un-creative assasins creed had more originality...hey i can rant too.
