I'm so sorry that your show on 20/20 became so twisted. I really don't think that some people understand. Maybe you should make your own show. You know enough people that you could get together with I'm sure. You know you could air what needs to be know about ed with the help of a few others that you know. It's not slap stick comedy ! :) I think you know what I mean by that statement. Ballerina princess... You know how it needs to be done. Sending hugs your way ! :) Mamie

I'll stop commenting now, but wanted to make my feelings somewhat heard.
Hope your day is going well, my sweet Johnny!

Little mention of the obsession, fear, anxiety, distress, pain, heartache of those battling orthorexia made it even more disappointing. Maybe the production team should have included someone who understood the battle as more than a illness, but as something more human?!? Seriously, though, I'm so annoyed. Can we contact ABC in a more direct way expressing concern over their portrayal?

Hey Johnny!
I just watched the video and saying that they "missed the mark" is nothing less than an understatement. I was very disappointed and wholeheartedly agree that a ridiculous amount of focus was placed on the food and the consumption of food. I'm sorry, but wtf? This disease should NEVER be treated lightly, or as the equivalent of some minor illness that can be treated with minor effort. It's just as real, urgent, and painful as the message of those affected.

Hey, Johnny! I watched 20/20 but wasn't able to comment until now. WOW! I was really surprised to learn so much. And as I recall, the orthorexia voice was especially loud during filming, but your spirit shined through. :) I'm sending the videos to my mother.

I posted the article in my Facebook and told people to read it for the sake of eating disorder awareness and I mentioned your YouTube name. I didn't get to see the news story, because I don't have cable- did it miss the mark a lot? Was it a good experience for you?

I saw your video in reaction to the 20/20 show. And what I really admired about you in that video, is the fact that you want to help and understand people who have eating disorders. Do you realize that you would be a revolutionary if you opened a clinic that had all natural and healthy food. You would be so famous. And you would actually help people with eating disorders instead of just serving food, you would serve love!

I am very very very flattered by this comment and your gratitude towards who I am and what I am doing. Thank you, ever so much. I would love to see clinics like that happen, geared towards eds. I'd love to be a part of that but first I must get myself healthy. A figure who isn't as healthy as he can be isn't the figure he could be if he were healthy. Smile.

I was confused at the point of the documentary, because it showed that raw food was a bad thing. That raw food eating was a bad thing. What about the meanings behind the obsessive health food eating? That one lady just showed how she pretty much stopped her obsessive attitudes. I dont blame the food for that. We all need food, but this documentary was focused only on the food.

Media, go figure. My thoughts on this are in my newest video... You are not alone in feeling this way. Many people are very upset over how they linked raw food and a psychological illness together, I am one of those people and have already publically addressed my opinion - here, on a raw food forum and on ABC's website.
