You are undoubtedly younger than I (58). It is so evocative of what we as a nation are losing. There is a lot of history in this song. I remember when it seemed that a new form of locust (the corporate farm) was devouring the family farms. A good family farm does what it can to improve their land & the health of their animals. Corporate farms are as indifferent to the land & their animals as Wall Street bankers are to the 98%. To me this story ties into the aftermath of "Monster" by Steppenwolf.
