The main thing with controlling adrenaline is breathing and not to panic. learn to accept that this is your bodys natural way of switching to survival mode. it can work for or against you.fight or flight syndrome. best way to address adrenaline dump is to accept that it will be there and most importantly..breathe!
use your arms to maintain your personal space with open palms (body language indicating a non threatening) and take a step back. if in doubt ...strike first and strike HARD

Bouncer for almost twenty years.
You can't just start punching people. You can't just spin someone around and choke them out. You can't bounce someones head off the wall. You can't kick someone.
A bouncer is a private citizen. Try most of this crap, and you go to jail.

when not in close quarters with a knife handler, would you suggest the first attempt be a front kick/ roundhouse to the wrist and then approaching the knife handler whether you knocked the knife with the kick or not? the club i do security in has no metal detection...

very nice realistic real time adrenal stress training. lets be honest your opponent on the street is not going to bow politely and say oss Jodan attack and come at you with a single reverse punch and then stand there like a dummy while you kick his as. Add body armour so you can make it even more realistic.

great post , very impressive .
if you were in a street fight situation you were out numbered ( life or death ) and you found your self in a position behind one of your opponent would you recommend an air or blood choke .

@nightlight7142 - choking your opponent is best option if the opportunity arises,take it! but be sure to let go of the choke when his legs go limp indicating unconsiousness. be careful tho any choke used and if not released after they pass out could cause brain damage and if left on long enough....can cause death.

my first rational when provoked a few inches away is a very quick uppercut. would that get the situation onto my side? hope to hear from your experience. thanks.

@naeimelvis any strike if struck first is always going to be to your advantage. be a right cross,uppercut or headbutt.basically whichever technique is most natural to u,you might also have to follow through with more strikes to put him down,

always try to avoid any violence if possible,things can get real ugly very quickly be it injury to you,your opponent jail time and even death.only fight as a last resort!!! when engaged with an aggressor,always have your fence up with open palms which is disguising a fighting stance but in the eyes of opponent and witnesses it looks submissive. obviously only striking if you genuinely feel that your safety is at stake. on the street..its either you or him!
