Ringo was right to be short with Merv, they were there to promote the movie "Caveman" not the Beatles revisited. Be in the here and now, yesterday was great but it is gone and you can't go back.
Ringo and Barbara are a great couple, they have remained strong and devoted to eachother for around 30 years, through so many trails and difficulties. Love them both!

@llamawalrus The Anthology was not out then

I suppose, and besides, Merv is such a noisy jerk! And I don't Blane ringo for his attitude then, he did lose his best friend. And I'm tired of those people that are like "Ringo is an ass" or the typical " Ringo is the least beatle" so not true! Ringo gave the beatles the best beat and he was one of the best drummers of his time and I still consider him to be the best now! His style is like no other!

I know Ringo was boozing heavily back then, but he should have expect the Beatle questions... just provide the standard answer and get it over with. IMO, Merv was horrible with his guests. He was instrusive and nosey. When the guest doesn't want to talk about an issue, you don't keep pushing, you simply move on.

@007heroesfan You do realise that this was only a few months after his best mate was shot? hardly gonna be in the mood was he?

Heavily drunk here! still in grief

You can tell Ringo is pissed and had a few lines of coke...but his wife?? gorgeous!! looks sober, guess it proves if your a guy and have money and fame you can get any girl you want...im a big Ringo fan by the way i just find all this kinda funny and true to life
-
you cant blame ringo about being tired of talking about the beatles, he does have a life and a incredibly hot wife..

i think ringo..as the LEAST beatle so to speak is the most arrogant..he is definately drunk in this interview as was his way then but he takes much more credit then he deserves
Barbara and Ringo, lovely couple!!

I think he's right about the questions about The Beatles, he was promoting his film at that particular moment, right? If you want to know about The Beatles there are loads of books, documentaries... I specially recomend The Anthology.
Anyway, Caveman is very funny, you should see it.
