pacific campaign; British and commonwealth troops comprised a large part of japans enemy, British, Irish, Australian, Indian, Chinese, New Zealand. how can u say america defeated them single handed? its ridiculous, neither was capable of winning without the help of eachother, America was more powerful, they were a sleeping superpower, Britain is a much smaller country with a far smaller population, but look at wat we achieved against far superior numbers!!!

Thats an unfair comment, The USA couldnt of won world war 2 without Britain
1. we contributed vast man power to the campaign, D-Day; 84,000 of the 156,000 troops deployed for the assault were british, 80% of the allied naval force deployed was British, and 50% of the air armada was British RAF.
2. Market Garden; 10,000 paratroopers of the 34,000 airborne troops were brits. also all of codename "garden" were british(the armoured element)

This is from the reenacted siege of Fort William Henry, in New York. The original event took place in August of 1757, and this was from the 250th anniversary last year.
