Ugly Bob's Unduly Unctuous Universe Presents:
Ever since the DS first came out in 2004, I think one of its least appreciated features were the cases that the game actually came in. They are quite useful for storage purposes with the add. slot for GBA games. When compared to the awful and easily damaged GBA boxes, the choice is obvious for a careful collector.
GBA boxes came in two varieties that I have seen:
1) plastic piece with the GBA cart space near the top, manuals slide in to the rear of the piece.
2) plastic sleeve for the GBA cart on the upper left of the inside of the box, the rest of the box for manuals and suchlike. Of my 35+ GBA games, I have seen this on Castlevania:Circle of the Moon and TMNT 2003. Definitely superior care.
These two designs are a far cry from the box designs of early Gameboy carts, with plastic sleeves in which the game sat in the middle, protected within a plastic case from Nintendo (I always wondered where my friends got those)
Anyway, I recently discovered that GBA manuals can also be stored well in DS cases with the GBA games as well in a quite safe manner. Here's a video that I hope you find helpful, as there are quite a few GBA classics that deserve it.
That's a good idea. I have two questions. Is there room for the DS manual? If you take care of your stuff, why not keep manual in its GBA retail box?
I've been looking into DVD cases as a possible storage for Gameboy games that I don't have boxes for. I made a custom organizer for all my GB, GBC, GBA games. It's practical, but it doesn't look good on a shelf. I modified a CD jewel case to fit Final Fantasy Legends 3 and it's art, but I think DVD cases would look really cool with printed art.
