@Danzig987 I'm personally grateful to have the fanfare left out. Why? Because it's tripe compared to this. Dukas only stuck it on as an afterthought.

Lovers of this great symphonic poem/ballet should plan to attend the Toronto Symphony Orchestra's performance of the work in late March, 2011 (under Stephane Deneve) ... in a concert that will also include Florent Schmitt's "Tragedie de Salome." The only thing missing is Ravel's "Adelaide" ("Valses Nobles et Sentimentales") ... then it would exactly mirror the great 1912 Paris ballet performances -- surely one of the most memorable evenings of dance in the entire history of the ballet!
Great First Part of a wonderful ballet ... but where's the opening fanfare? It just seems wrong not to have it.

Well, as the fanfare is easily accessible on Youtube and as the duration of this movement is close to the limit accepted by Youtube, I decided not to upload it ... I admit that I am sometimes a lazy person !
