When you mentionned 2:33, I knew exactly which spot on the track you meant.

My bet is that driving up on the gator was the primary reason you lost it. Don't get on the gators when they are wet, especially if they have any paint on them.

Good save, although, try to keep hands on wheel next time, and control the car with throttle application
