Blood Parrot Cichlid

This is my 50 gallon tank with Parrot cichlids, Angelfish, Kribensis, and Danios. There is also a couple of clown loaches but they don't make it into the video. Its about 8 weeks old now.

how big to parrot fish get? is it possible to keep one with an angelfish in a 30 gallon?

Mine are about the size of a closed fist now. Note sure about angels. Its funny which fish they get along with. They do well with all my fish but the Green Severum. They seem to be agressive toward fish of similar size. No real harm though as they have a fleshy mouth that doesn't close. They are real characters.

Probably not. They do get quite large and produce a lot of waste so water quality could be an issue. I actually run 2 large canister filters for all my fish and i still need to keep up with my water changes. Good luck.

how do u keep this so clean also do your angles and parrots fight?

Water changes 2-3 times per month. These parrots are fairly peacful except when spawning. The angels have sinced died but it didn't look like it was due to any harrasment from the parrots.

I called mine "sushi" and sushi seems to be aware of its outside enclosure. And no the water isn t a mid level. i have an above tank turtle docking area. :P The turts are still very very small. two and a half inches. :P So yeah. I wanna see how to let my fish stay the shape he is. He looks like idk. like an acorn. is it going to stay that shapE? :C

Question. You know how you first get the parrots? With the small head? Large body? Does it stay like that? D::: I got a red one and I REALLY REALLY wish for it to stay like that. Idk if its a king kong parrot. I was told its a blood parrot. It cost me 11 dollars xDD SOO yeah.:C Its getting used to me. and even staring at me. I actually got it to come out from hiding by placing it with my turtles. Both have same water parameter needs. So Iam like the heck with it. P.s. They are in a turtlenursery

yea its true blood parrots dont get along with severums for some reason, mine defends it self from a same sized green terror female, and gets along with an oscar, bichir, needlenose gar, etc.

you could keep a parrot in a 30 gallon but you would want to put anything else with it. think of 30 gallons as a minimum tank size for one of these guys cause they do get medium/large and produce a lot of waste so good filtration is needed. but yeah go for it. Also, nice parrots in the vid. check mine out on my vids. hes about 5 inches long right now. these fish usually grow 8" as an average. they can be aggressive but they cant really do a lot of damage cause of the mouth that doesnt close
