What's the point in hiring an interpreter if you can speak for yourself? I think it is a good thing that she's trying to communicate in another language, can't see why this should be a disgrace ... And her english is really good in my opinion, so why shouldn't she make use of it?

I liked so much this woman's books, now that i've just watched this vid i can only say i am extremely disappointed.
Even if she lives in the United States right now, she should preserve her roots and keep speaking German. How pathetic and disgraceful.

That's rather harsh. If she is speaking to an audience comprised entirely of English-speaking fans, how is she betraying her German roots by communicating with them in a manner they can understand? I admire that she was so kind to her fans and that she made the effort to speak English.
