Restoration of a 1991 Casio Rapman. At first I tought it was a matter of cleaning it well, but I found some broken circuit traces, possibly due to something heavy pressing on the keyboard body sometime. Anyways at the end it worked! Feel free to ask any questions and thanks to Flemming (organfairy) as he provided the inspiration to bring this puppy back to life :)

  • I have my daughters' old Rapman here beside me, in exactly the same state as yours was, (only sound from scratch pad) and was wondering if anyone could fix it... as the grandchildren would love to play it too...It was wonderful to hear that sound again... thanks. Would you be interested/prepared to fix another Rapman? Tina, Auckland, New Zealand.

  • @marksandstad I would love to fix yours! unfortunately I think the shipping costs will go over the actual price of the instrument (I'm from Mexico). Try looking at local flea markets and maybe you will find a working one or maybe a local technician would be able to fix it. Thanks for the comment and greetings :)

  • Nice to see one of these that isn't "circuit-bent". It's cool to see how you repaired it too- although I doubt my hands are steady enough to repair traces :)

  • @perspeeks :) I will be placing more videos of my Casios soon. All unbent!

  • I am a Rapman player. I don't bend. Much love for restoring this lovely instrument back to good form without any extra tweaking.

  • @deeeecraig Thanks for your comment! This was my second keyboard so it means a lot to me, the greatest disrespect I did to it was to leave it unattended during a phase of my life... but now Im making music with it again! :) cheers
