  • @rwb010109 I'm glad that you have the record, and that you like the song.Your welcome and thanks for dropping by... :)

  • Great song from 58-59. Tried to buy the record for many years when living in Philadelphia but apparently this song was only popular in the South Florida market where it was number 1.

I finally got a copy of the original 45 in a record store in Miami in the late 60's.

    Just a bit of history.

  • This was recorded in 1961 according to my records. That is a very interesting story. That has always been a problem to me,as songs that did well on a local market never or seldom made it the national scene.I'm glad you finally have a copy. Thanks for the great infor.

  • I know about Author Alexander and his great smooth music and you could say there are somewhat similar.

I think it's just the era. Charlie's voice was much higher than Arthur's. It's just the way the music of that time sounded. (And damn, I loved, and wished more sounded that way!!!)

  • Glad that you enjoyed the song.

Charlie had a much higher voice, and I don't think his vocals are anything like Arthur's.

Except that it was the same time period. No one has yet mentioned that this is the same Charlie McCoy who became famous as a multi-instrumentalist Nashville studio musician, and leader of the house band on Hee Haw. As time goes by, we learn there is no such thing as a one hit wonder, everyone who has it together adapts and continues to have a career of some kind.
