  • Comme c'est beau ! la simplicité du chant, et le timbre très émouvant de la voix...

    Merci !

  • This is the only video I have found with guitarist Jytte Gorki Schmidt. Thanks for uploading.

PS Aksel Schiotz was a favourite of my father and his name was well-known in my childhood.

    Greetings from Copenhagen, John

  • @meltzerboy

I can't add a single word to what has already been written, other than to say this is wonderful! Thank you Addi for posting, and thank you Nate for sharing!

  • @meltzerboy This is very beautiful, indeed. Thank you for recommending it.

I seem to remember that Schiøtz was, before attaining success as a singer, a high-school teacher of English.

  • @EdmundStAustell I did, Edmund; that is a good part of the appeal of this great tenor. Also, as I mention, Schiotz has a beautiful voice. In fact, he combines a multitude of stellar vocal qualities that make him a complete artist. Why he is not more widely known I'm not sure.

  • Absolutely beautiful, and did anyone else notice the absolute clarity of his pronunciation? Every single word! If everyone did that, there would be a much wider audience for classical singing.

  • I love the singing of Aksel Schiotz, a most gifted tenor, with a beautiful tone and great technique and artistry. Insofar as his pronunciation is concerned, he sings English with no foreign accent. Thanks, Addi, for posting!

  • very pretty and one of the few schiotz recordings I actually own haha. liked him a lot from when I first heard him, he should be better known.
