Lunges are an excellent large compound exercise which utilises several different muscles in the legs and also core. Remember core isn't abs but the deeper muscles that help stabilise the upper and lower body. Lunges can be adjusted regardless of the users ability even though it is a complex exercise. From a static lunge progressing onto a moving lunge alternating legs. Even if you struggle with a static lunge as it emphasises alot of the weight unilaterally through one leg rather than both legs in a bilateral exercise like a squat with the aid of a pole or bar in the gym to a broom in the house this aid can help stablise you still allowing a great workout on the leg muscles. Before then progressing from the basic static lunge onto a more functional moving lunge. One exercise with so many variations that help build muscle and strip down that excess or unwated body fat. Lose weight with one large compound exercise rather than doing five isolation exercises. More time effecient and very productive. Can be used in the gym or for home training. Hopefully this explaination and video will help get the form and technique right to help deliver excellent results. Enjoy!
