I've had a SCI (C6 comp.) since Oct. 4, 2004. I haven't woke up and felt like I've actually slept since just before then. I wake up so often at night that I feel worse and more tired than I did when I went to bed when I wake up.
If I could change one thing it wouldn't be being able to walk again, or anything like that. It would be to have a good night's sleep where I could wake up and feel rested...
I like how you are reading the things out loud. I'm also blind, so it helps a lot!
Hey I'M a c5-6 complete quad. I sleep on my side and have my prefo boots on and that prevents my legs from spasming. Whenever I try to sleep on my back I get bad spasms - try sleeping on your side - hope this helps.
I can imagine you struggled with your anger in the first years... But how good of you to be able to cope with it. I had (and sometimes still have) sleeping problems too (and know about the anger when turning the light on...), but I am no quadriplegic. I have Tinnitus (constant buzzing and ringing in my ears). I often struggled to fall asleep and didn't sleep at all for quite some nights. But I also found a way to deal with it. Keep up the sleeping ;) Cheers
I feel for ya, I've been a quad for 35 years, left side, right side, every two hours all night long, wa wa wa.
