i am about to buy one and i worry about fuel consumption between 200 exc and 125exc i want it for long trail riding and some road driving ....also the 200 have way more power than 125 and the 200 exc top end rebuilt is way more expensive than 125....??? can you help me?

fuel consumption is quite similar 200/125. I can ride about 2h with one tank(9,5l). I think 2stroke isn't best choise to long trail and road riding(4strokes are better for that purpose). Yes, 200 has more power than 125, but 125 is very good choise also. Costs are similar between 125/200. You can get piston etc. in same price for both bikes. I rode over 240h without any technical problem with 200. It is reliable, lightweight and fast bike.

whats the powerband like on a 200 exc? is it like a motocross 125?

little bit more low end torque than 125sx. I have also FMF Gnarly exhaust pipe in my 200exc
