  • It seems to me something didn't quite run well with that improvviso's tempo, lol ;-)

  • @LordMgls I'm just an opera fan with no expertise so it sounded fine to me, but I'd love to know where the tempo went wrong. :)

  • Thank you, dear Roberta, for this joy and delight .

  • The most visceral singing imaginable. Thrilling! Translation much appreciated too.

  • The roar of the audience - they're on their feet - and so am I

  • Forse il miglior chenier della storia...saluti

  • I'm on my feet. Whatever Franco sings I'm on my feet. Bravo!

  • @racheleleeba LOL, I'm not an expert either and I might be wrong, (I see someone put thumbs down here - it wasn't me) 4:45 ? Or probably he is just singing as a metronome - which isn't usually very nice to be heard. Probably he was trying to do one of those very-Corelli high notes and the maestro didn't give him the time to sustain it...? :-P

  • Would you believe, I used to disdain this aria. The whole opera thereby. For about 10 years of my opera-appreciating life! Unbelievable, I know. Until you realize one simple fact: the only version I had ever heard of this aria was Carrerras, post-cancer.

    =/

    Marvelous singing here, of course!

  • Oh wonderful, Met titles.
