After almost 2 months of continuous rain this is the way the mighty Burdekin River looks like. The video was taken while traveling on the Silver Link, the bridge connecting Ayr and Home Hill. As you can see, the water level is very close to the bridge itself. The Silver Link is bigger than the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

  • @ossiesixtysix Thank you very much for your comment and your good wishes, mate! This is certainly a magic place to live in. ;)

Take very good care of yourself.

  • @Nannaroo17 Fantastic! Look forward to seeing that when you do it. I've crossed that bridge a few times over the years in both wet and dry season, but my kids have only seen the mighty Burdekin dry so they were knocked out by your video, seeing the river at full flow. Good luck with the move back if you make it. I reckon that would be a magic area to live in.

    Cheers mate!

  • @ossiesixtysix I really appreciate your kind comment, mate.

To make a video of the mighty Burdekin during the dry season has been one of my goals.

A while ago, I have had to move out from the Burdekin District, but it seems to me I am about to move back to that area again. I will just have to wait until the dry season, and I definitely will be making that video you suggested.

    Have a good one!

    :D

  • excellent vid! would have been great if you had included a comparison of what it looks like in the dry season. the contrast between the two always blows my mind.

  • It is an amazing sight. A mighty river indeed! :)

  • I was there earlier this year, and i was wondering what the Burdekin looked like in flood :)
