Labadee, Haiti introduction to the island taken from the balcony of our suite. I think I mistook the ''private beach" advertising message to mean a "private island" off of Haiti. In fact, Labadee is really just a long and beautiful peninsula of Haiti. Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere, and Royal Caribbean has greatly increased the standard of living in this section of the country. The average annual Haitian income is $250; Haitian employees of RCCL make that every two weeks! It gives perspective: wages that would be considered sub-minimum wage in the USA make a Haitian an extremely wealthy person.

  • @wutitdo305 I agree. Haiti can't be isolated...not now especially since the earthquake

  • @kirkslastbid Thank you, I am from Haiti and glad you enjoyed yourself

  • @burghboy01 Thank you, I am from Haiti and glad you enjoyed yourself

  • I'm thrilled, i am going on a cruise with Royal Caribbean, and Labadee is our first stop, any ideas on what to do wen i get there, once the boat docks.

  • Thanks for the video. I'm going to Labadee in January on Royal Caribbean Liberty, and I wondered what Labadee looked like. Seems like fun.

  • I was in Labadee on 10/19/09. They have about a dozen bungalows on the 2nd beach area to the left after exiting the tender. My wife and I got there first and had our pick. Nice way to spend a day. I was told that RC would soon be charging for use of these as soon as they figured out how they would charge guests. But in the meantime, if you're stoping at Labadee, get on the first tender and head left to the 2nd beach and pick out your favorite. As of now, squatters rights rule the day!

  • I just got back from Labadee last week, you wouldn't believe all the improvments they have made !!! It's one of my favorite places now !!! how can you beat a chair under a tree, on an beach, with drinks brought to you !!!
