  • Lately I did altered my Grey water recovery I put a 200 litrs tank just at ground level so I'm able to lower an eight liters bucket and do it by hand so there is no stress in the washing machine, the syphon hose still there to finish the emptying of the tank.! Keeps me fit! and is quick! Soap is biodegradable! arpolwest

  • Hi! We don't use bleach at all but biodegradable powder soap! But at this very moment we are not using it till I get a low level tank to avoid extra stress in the water pump! Also the draining hose should be always be kept above the water level to avoid shyponning back into the washer machineI So whatever you do avoid stressing the water pump of the washing machine! Otherwise perfect! The system requires close supervision ideal for retirees, keeps you active! Also I collect rain water

  • Correction!! Occasionally I add......

  • Obsessionally I add some soluble fertilizer as carps extract or others into the tank, in this case I refill fully the tank with tap water and apply on the very dry spots!

  • Doesn't bleach kill plants?

  • More people should realise the importance of grey water re-use. Makes economical and environmental sense. Congrats on your system

I have a similar system where I have introduced a pump to give pressure to the hosepipe. All of our plats are thriving on this water and the first week we began using it, we could see an improvement in the plants. We are using Arial Powder for now until it runs out then will see about using something even more beneficial to the plants. Andrew
