  • CONGRATS ELLIOT! I pretty much look the same as you right now! I had the double incision top surgery with Dr. Charles Garramone in FL on the 20th....so I still have my drains in and I have a big ace bandage wrapped all the way around my chest (he doesnt use the surgical binders). Im sooo happy, and my guess is that youre feeling the same way! I get the bandages off and the drains out tomorrow and I cant wait cuz this bandage is so itchy!!! When do you get your drains and binder off?

  • congrats on your surgery! i have to keep my drains in for a week and a day minimum - then if i'm not draining anymore i get to take them out. i have to keep the binder on for 3 weeks though to keep the swelling down. good luck with gettin your drains out!

  • ya, your "fat belly" what are you 125ish?

you guys really make me want an orchy :P

    <3

  • hey! im 145 thank you - and its all due to muscle of course =D

  • as i said, my comments were more for folks reading this who might be unaware of the effects of anti-inflammatories on post-op healing.

and i also agreed that everything should be discussed with one's medical team.

    no offense intended.

  • i actually have to take aspirin as a blood thinner because of a blood clotting disease. i stopped the week before surgery and was told to start again the day after. so yes it depends on each persons medical history.

  • yes, but regardless of your allergy to tylenol, advil is still a blood thinner, and not something to be taken right after surgery. i say this more for folks who have yet to undergo their surgeries.

but yes, everything should be discussed with one's GP.

  • thanks for the concern but its implied you should consult your doctor. I have allergies to tylenol so by the time I was on advil I was fine. Not everyone has the same medical history and issues.

  • advil is bad! it [and other ibuprofen] thins your blood; your surgeon should have instructed you to avoid advil and aspirin in the weeks before and after surgery.

if you don't like the prescription meds, extra strength tylenol is a good alternative.

  • Friend of KadeClark here and I just wanted to say, kudos to you for just being you.

    Big hugs!
