@TheRandomSweed Sorry to hear about your Dad! My family member is still in her early 30s. My biggest fear is that she's gonna be 35 and sitting in a wheelchair with stumps instead of feet. She's already going in that direction, between the neuropathy, the ulcers, and her who-gives-a-shit? approach to her disease.

It's pathetic that all she has to do is exercise and she'd be fine!

Bret Michaels can exercise til the fuckin cows come home and his Diabetes ain't goin nowhere!

@DoubleTalkingJive Sounds like my father, he has type 2 and is on the diabetic pill twice a day, eats candy and sugars, smokes 2 packs a day. He dosent care at all. Im a smoker as well since 20 years and i desperatly want to quit.

A family member of mine has Type 2. Doctor told her if she lost 100 lbs she wouldn't have to worry about insulin injections or foot ulcers (both of which she has), but nope! She doesn't exercise, smokes her face off, and eats nothing but crap. She's playing with fire and my heart goes out to anyone with Type 1 who would kill to hear that from a doctor.

My ex-girlfriend was diabetic. Sometimes she would say she needed sugar. Then I would say "I'll give you some sugar". She used to leave her insulin needles out. She said she dated a guy who saw the needles and ran off because he thought she was a junkie.
