Was that supposed to be a serious song? It's HORRIBLE. Timing all over the place. This fad in music needs to die.

Great, this is how we mix fart music...

@bellinghammond ha ha - I was just thinking "what the hell piece of music is this to use as an example" when I read your comment. Really made me laugh. Yogi bear. Ha.

thanks for the video! Glad to hear some great info. pretty lame track, but informative nonetheless.

you can do the same by busing to an aux track and eq and comp on the aux instead of having to duplicate the kick right?
-
@wizprodux they are really good and i just purchased a set of em myself, they are awesome but sadly, you have to pay every year to reknew the licenses...
Why duplicate/create an aux for this? Unless you are overloading the Pultec, there's no dynamic manipulation, so blending in a track with 6dB more low end, for example, is only going to essentially get you 3dB more low end when used in parallel. Couldn't you have just used the Pultec on the original kick track?
Just curious. I could see this parallel usage of compression/distortion/etc being of usage but I think I'm missing something on this one.

@recordingreview Yes you can. However, some plug-ins don't report the correct latency to PT so then you get phasing issues...

Hey wizprodux great video's they are very helpful but I was just curious to why you don't use alot of Waves Plugins?? Because I'm always seeing big proffesional engineers using alot Waves stuff.

@TheKidProductions Good observation! I don't use many Waves plug-ins because they're expensive. They're a big enough company that the products sell themselves, whereas McDSP, Brainworx, SPL, Softube, etc... make great plug-ins which in some cases sound better than the Waves equivalent.
That said, I did make 3 videos using the Waves MPX plug-in, which I bought for $99!

the vid is a little strange in that, you sound so articulate/together etc...and then you start rolling this tinker toy SHITE track as the demo tune...It's like Dre explaining mid/side compression using the Yogi Bear theme song...aw well,
thumbs up overall though....;)
