As a 28 year veteran teacher of disadvantaged youth coming from Concord, Massachusetts one of the country's richest towns, this is SO touching. Thank you, it's a thankless job until the students serenade you as they do ME!!! I am the RICHEST in the WORLD!!!! TRUST ME!!! More love from the bottom of my heart!

I see photos of people with banners like "end poverty" and "ban the bomb" but these protesters aren't contributing.
"Stand and Deliver" is about Jaime Escelante, who succeeded where others hadn't. But he didn't march around with a banner; he became a teacher and worked hard to teach calculus.
Communities need to support the educators more. There are thousands of teachers who could make things good for the kids, if they were supported by the parents.
