what is GCSE coursework?
GrauenausderTiefe 6 months ago
@GrauenausderTiefe Yes, this was for GCSE. I don't normally write this style, but this was for an assignment. Some people have commented on how this style is a waste of time, but it actually has so much variation if you use the system to its full. The combination of all the rows in its inversion and retrograde in all transpositions gives it unlimited combinations. It is possible to write a tonal sounding piece in 12-tone, but that isn't what schoenberg and 2nd Vienese school set out to do.

@jessmartin365 Hi, just take it stage by stage. write a note row with intervals you like the sound and combination of. Try to use it with a really interesting rhythm and try to create pianistic sounds, then use it in the different inversions and have a couple of contrasting sections. Good luck!
