Universal Audio has partnered with Germany's Sound Performance Lab (SPL) to bring you the Transient Designer, with its unique and compelling Differential Envelope Technology for shaping the dynamic response of a sound. Only two simple audio controls are required to allow you effortlessly to reshape the attack and sustain characteristics, allowing transients to be accelerated or slowed down and sustain prolonged or shortened.

  • @8000raphi

    YES ... so isses!

  • unique !!! if you combine it with Vitalizer your drums tracks would BAAANG !!!

  • Is this plug in transparent enough for use on vocal tracks and drum busses?

  • @dsptetrahidrops theyre virtually the same!.. providing you have a quick processor! cpu power is becoming good enough to let programmers code things the way they want them to be coded.. therefore youre seeing better "in the box" plugins! Although in my (and most others) eyes you will still get frequencies clashing in a digital environment if theres not some kind of analog summing going on!

  • how different is the quality of this from UAD, and the quality of the SPL normal plugin?

  • @griploc1981 I'm all for furthering your education. But why is school necessary? With a few exceptions, most teachers at those schools are teaching engineering because they aren't able to have a successful engineering career themselves.

  • what a silly demo.....

I have a uad2 duo and almost all plug-ins and really love it. Always saw a spl TD live and tought just like "DarkShroom" why I should ever need it, because I think I know compressors....

2 weeks ago I trade a Transient designer for an art pro-vla of mine, and was blown away on the first time I've used it!

Lives in my live rack ever since and take it home for my recordings. But not for kick snare and triangle, but also for bass, solo guitar, room mics (!!) and even vocals
