Maxim says: "At the beggining we wanted to make 3 quad jumps, but then we thought, there is no such need to risk, doing 3 quads and also axel, so we left 2, but different quads - salchow and toe loop".

"I can't say, it was Joubert's reaction on Plushenko. joubert wasn't prepared to Europe himself. He've got a serious injury in december and didn't skate for 3 weeks. And I think, he wasn't prepared psychologically, because he lost Plushenko in the elements only 1 turn in the combination. Brian jumped 4-2 in 4-3 toe loop combination. After he went from the ice and understood, he was loosing just this 1 turn , he asked "So does it really possible to win Plushenko?".

  • 3 part

I answered "You can see it yourself". He won Plushenko in components. For him it was kind of stress after the short programme - he wanted to gain the victory over Plushenko so mush, that he burned out. Sure we made this programm neat, and he skated neatly, but Plushenko... from my point of view the jumps are unique. For a long time I didn't see someone who skates so invariably (stably). He jumps easily, as if he makes a flick.

It seems like he can make any triple jump from the place where he stands - without moving before it".

"Albena and I push Joubert to make all the elements as a dancer on ice, we aded more bodywork in step sequence. We try to force Brian to move his body more during all his programmes, because, fron my point of view, all his previous programmes were strained, stiff.

No doubt, he has a good male skateing, but we wanted him to be more plastic, flexible, because while competing with, for example Lambiel, he should show the choreography. It is the same when he competes with Lysachek, Plushenko - these people always work with choreographers. As far as I know Brian didn't have the concrete, specific choreographer earlier".
