California Quail (high quality)

We heard this quail's call and spotted it sitting in our holly tree. Beautiful markings and quite cooperative as it waited for me to get my camcorder. This is just the higher quality version of it.

the babies are the cutest tiniest little poof balls. We get them in our yard and you'll see the male in a tree or bush keeping watch while the mom and their babies forage below.

@lola26granola I know, they're great to have around! Unfortunately, we trimmed . thinned our holly tree and they "flew the coop" for a while. Apparently, they need a lot of cover to feel secure (or something). They'll be back :-)

Plant a thornless Honey Locust, it gives them year round food and they thrive ;)

While I was working at Stouffers/Nestles, I rescued a baby quail from getting stepped on by a labrador. It was so tiny and fluffeh!!! When I went to work that day, I was working with spaghetti and meatballs. The meatballs were the same size as the baby quail and everyone looked at me funny when I laughed.
