I personally love both series.

A:TLA was, and still is, my absolute favorite show. The characters were so unique, and there was something for everybody. Humor was in every episode, there was romance, suspense, action, etc.

A:TLOK is more mature. The fans of A;TLA that are now watching Korra are more mature, which is why, I think, the creators made this series less 'comedy' and more action and romance-filled.

They're both great. You just have to give TLOK a chance and stop comparing. c:

i agree with you almost completely. the action in ATLA is bigger. fire for example is much more agressive in ATLA. but i see the series as a whole and like both. :)

I gotta say, I don't agree with you here. You can't have an overpowered protagonist. There needs to be conflict, and for the conflict to feel real we need to see the protagonist fail. When we see Team Avatar losing, it makes us want them to defeat the Antagonist that much more, and makes it that much sweeter when Korra does defeat Amon. I think it's boring to see the heroes win without struggle. That's why the Matrix sequels aren't as good. Neo became way too good, and it got boring.

yeah i love the concept of having a new type of enemy.probably more worst than fire nation.But making the villain that powerful is overrated.That ruined the sense of having an avatar on the side of the good guys.When i watched episode 9 i felt frustrated seeing team avatar losing to yakkone.they shoudn't made it that way. very senseless..

I haven't seen it yet, I've got my dvd pre-ordered and I'm waiting for its July release. I say its still worth watching, remember, when this came out the creators didn't think they were going to do more than one Book. I bet they've put more effort now that they can work with it more.

I'm going to wait for reviews on the second season before watching it. :P Right now I don't like the lack of humor, the unnecessary love triangle or the weaker bending. :\

It's just so hard though. I'm 15 now and still rewatching A: TLA XD. It was my childhood, and one of the main reasons I watched it (and rewatching) was the humor and the stunning bending. :\
